About Me

My photo
Debra
I taught languages (Spanish and French) and am now an Elder in Full Connection in the UMC (ordained June 2018). I have lived in the south and the northeast (US) and have travelled throughout the US and to about two hand fulls of countries (Mexico, Belgium, Spain, Africa (Ceuta in Morocco), Jamaica, Italy, Canada, Guatemala, Costa Rica, El Salvador (tarmac at the airport), Israel, France). In my immediate family I have a husband, a son who graduated art school in 2024 at SVA in NYC, and two step adult kids. We also have Cliff, the dog. In February 2011, I re-entered the world of academia for the M.Div. at Asbury Theological Seminary and graduated May 2015! I took basic training for Lay Speaking in 1988 on Long Island and have been Certified since the 90s. I started teaching Lay Courses Fall 2011 online through BeADisciple.com. I completed the 2 Year Academy for Spiritual Formation in 2013 (#32, bilingual). A truly life-changing experience! I completed a Certificate in Spiritual Direction through Columbia Theological Seminary in January 2024.
